About 8 years ago I had an open sore near the top of my ear.  It got wider and deeper.  A plastic surgeon cut out the Cancer that he could and rebuilt the top of my ear.  There was a spot that could not be reached with surgery that was taken care of with 5 weeks of 5 days of radiation treatments.  I think the doctor missed a spot on the very top of my ear and it came back.  This time it was mad and ate most of my ear and a part of the right side of my head.  It took me 5 years before I could get insurance and have the surgery I needed.

I went to Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit.  The doctors and staff are great.  They made me feel at ease and answered all of my questions.  I am now cancer free and even my arthritis feels better.  If you are in Detroit, that is where to go.  If you are not in Detroit, that is where to go. 

Cancer if caught on time may not be the end.  Keep up your spirits and fight it and you will probably win.  A doctor told my aunt when she beat uterine cancer 30 years ago that 90% of the cure for cancer is the patient’s attitude and will to live.  When she had it, it was fatal in 99% of the cases.
